Urban Park Area Falck

An urban aspect along the perimeters and an unpredictable organization towards the inside. Selected from among 170 proposals from all over the world and invited to the second phase of the competition, the project – called “Naturarchitecture” – develops the experiences of “green architecture” of the Environment Park in Turin by proposing buildings with a garden roof inserted in a system of parks between connected to them in a flow of paths, the integrated control of the cycles of water, air, energy, the organization and separation of vehicular, pedestrian and cycling flows. There are two architectural typologies, designed to accommodate homes, services, production and services for the public indifferently: the a-tectonic building-hill, which occupies one of the four quadrants of the square lots; and the tectonic ziggurat-building, with stepped gardens forming linear lots facing the outer boundary of the project. The system is completed by the thermo-botanical type, organized to exploit the residual heat of the cycle of the planned new Sondel cogeneration plant and by the electro-kinetic type, an innovative, ecological and silent means of public transport developed by Ansaldo.
